Chang Lijun, male, Han ethnicity, born in May 1970, is the Executive General Manager of the Membrane Equipment and Application Technology Center at CITIC Environmental Technology. Since taking office, led the team to improve the process flow, completed the construction and production of Guangzhou Meineng membrane production line, and achieved Meineng's listing on the Singapore Stock Exchange; Build membrane demonstration projects in Guangdong, Fujian, Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces, establish Mianyang and Nantong Meineng, and establish Meineng Membrane's leading position in the industry; Since serving as the General Manager of the Beipai Membrane Joint Venture Company, I have organized a team to complete over 20 project constructions, among which the Huaifang project has won the International Water Association Global Project Innovation Award; Devoted to researching membrane technology and devices, participated in the development of more than 30 patents and proprietary technologies, among which the third-generation hollow fiber membrane fibers produced by TIPS method have become the most outstanding products in terms of comprehensive performance in the world. Traveling thousands of miles, determined to tackle challenges
In 2005, Guangzhou Meineng Material Technology Co., Ltd. was established. As the earliest manufacturer of hollow fiber membranes in China, its main equipment is non-standard products that can only be independently developed and designed. The performance of each raw material, the error of each component size, and even the position of each bolt need to be repeatedly tested. In order to develop high-quality hollow fiber membranes as soon as possible, Chang Lijun spent almost all his time in the company, eating and staying. Employees on the morning shift often saw him busy all night after debugging. During a spinning experiment, Chang Lijun was fully focused on the spinning condition, and the nozzle being adjusted sprayed with raw materials, instantly whitening... This is just a microcosm of his daily work. Under the continuous debugging of Chang Lijun and his colleagues day and night, stable production was finally achieved in the shortest possible time. Several spinning threads were used to spin stable and high-performance hollow fiber membranes, which helped Meineng Membrane successfully enter the domestic and international markets and win the first technical battle, effectively ensuring Meineng's listing on the Singapore Stock Exchange.
In 2008, Meineng Membrane emerged in the field of water treatment, and the company decided to establish new production bases in Mianyang, Sichuan and other places. Mianyang is located in the southwestern hinterland with harsh conditions. The production base starts from scratch and faces many challenges. Chang Lijun, the then head of Guangzhou Meineng Manufacturing, did not back down and volunteered to go to the Mianyang battlefield. At that time, people around him advised him not to go, saying that it would be better to stay in the big city. However, considering that Guangzhou's production was already on track and Mianyang needed him more, he made up his mind and left Guangzhou without hesitation, devoting himself wholeheartedly to the construction and operation of the Mianyang production base. Under the leadership of Chang Lijun, Mianyang Company entered the right track within one year and became the largest production base of Meineng Membrane in two years. It has advanced manufacturing technology and strict production management system, and its products have passed multiple international and domestic certifications, with market share increasing year by year.
In 2014, the company appointed Chang Lijun as the General Manager of the North Film Joint Venture Company. Everything started from scratch again, and without hesitation, he picked up his bags and headed north again. He devoted himself wholeheartedly and strived for perfection in every aspect of cooperation negotiations, site selection, construction commencement, production debugging, and company operation. Through unremitting efforts, Chang Lijun has handed over a satisfactory answer sheet to Meineng Film with his hard work and sweat on a blank sheet of paper. The North Drainage Membrane Joint Venture Company has undertaken the water treatment supply tasks of internal and external membrane methods for Beijing Drainage Group, and has implemented more than 20 major projects. Among them, the Beijing Huaifang Reclaimed Water Plant, known as the largest underground sewage treatment plant in Asia, won the International Water Association Global Project Innovation Award in 2018, which is also the only gold award won in the Asian region.
In 2016, Meineng membrane had already occupied half of the water treatment field. The company seized the market opportunity and vigorously established Jiangsu Meineng Membrane Material Technology Co., Ltd. Chang Lijun once again leads the charge, from coordinating external relationships to finding partners, from formulating development plans to conducting production research and development, from innovating production processes to standardizing manufacturing processes... His busy figure is everywhere. In 2018, Nantong Meineng had a production capacity of 10 million square meters of pressure and submerged hollow fiber membranes, opening up broader prospects for the company's development.
Never give up day and night, determined to innovate
As a technical expert in the field of membrane manufacturing, Chang Lijun has a persistent pursuit of innovation. In the complex management affairs, he always manages to concentrate on serious thinking and researching technology, organizing and carrying out a large amount of production research and development and technological improvement work. In order to continuously enhance the efficiency of innovation, Chang Lijun has been implementing a rationalization suggestion reward mechanism in the company since 2008, guiding employees to complete more than 100 rationalization suggestions related to production, technology, cost, quality, etc., which has played a positive role in improving product quality and work efficiency.
In 2012, the world's most well-known water treatment company inspected Meineng as an OEM factory, and it can be imagined how strict their requirements for product quality are. Even a burr that is almost invisible to the naked eye may attract their attention. Especially for some technical difficulties, they themselves are also very troubled and have been unable to solve them. In response to this situation, Chang Lijun volunteered and organized the technical team to hold multiple technical seminars, conducting more than 40 experiments of various sizes. He immersed himself day and night in the laboratory and testing line, repeatedly testing dozens of technical points such as raw materials, production processes, and manufacturing declarations, and overcame technical difficulties in just three months. Now, Meineng has become the only supplier of this water treatment company, and Meineng's products are also sold around the world.
Over the years, Chang Lijun has participated in the development of more than 30 patents and proprietary technologies, including the new generation of hollow fiber membrane spinning technology, epoxy resin sealing formula and process, polyurethane formula and casting process, new membrane modules, new membrane assemblers, and product moisturizing. Among them, the third-generation hollow fiber membrane fibers produced by the thermal induced phase method, which he participated in the research and development of, have higher water flux, greater mechanical strength, better chemical resistance, and longer service life. The performance parameters of various products have been improved several times to dozens of times, making them the most outstanding products in the world in terms of comprehensive performance. As of 2019, Meineng has obtained authorization for 26 patents with Chang Lijun as the main inventor, and there are still 17 patents in the process of application. The hard work and sweat are constantly pouring out fruitful results.
Always steadfast, with sincere heart
Chang Lijun is responsible for the production and manufacturing, process innovation, technological transformation, daily management, and organization and coordination of major engineering projects in the China branch of the membrane manufacturing center. The task is very heavy, as he has to organize multiple subsidiary companies to complete production tasks, as well as control the quality, progress, safety, and other aspects of the production process. The pressure can be imagined. For decades, he has been strict with himself, dedicating all his thoughts and energy to driving business development. He has not taken a vacation for many years and always arrives at the company first and leaves last every day. Every factory, workshop, and production line of each subsidiary has his repeated footprints. Due to years of high-intensity and full load work, Chang Lijun suffered from a waist disease. Every time he fell ill, he felt a lot of pain, even affecting his walking. However, he never complained about the pain and always took some medicine before returning to work. For many years, he has never missed a day of work and travels back and forth to different cities and factories every month, rain or shine, to the point where his colleagues jokingly refer to him as the "hardworking third son without a fixed abode".
Throughout the membrane manufacturing center, Chang Lijun is deeply loved by the employees. His management style is pragmatic and serious, with strict work requirements and adherence to standards. However, he is not strict with the employees and always provides them with careful guidance. Employees draft a contract or write a document, even if there are punctuation errors, they will point them out and request corrections. On the production line, if the employee supervisor cannot solve a problem, he will consult him carefully and answer it without any airs. He is like a skilled doctor, who can diagnose the patient's condition by taking their pulse and prescribe effective treatment plans.
People who know Chang Lijun will always leave a deep impression on him. He is frugal and frugal, eating the simplest work meals all year round, wearing shoes with worn heels, living in the simplest rental houses, and his personal life is as simple as possible. But when the employees were in trouble and asked for his help, he didn't hesitate to use his own salary to rescue them. He always puts his employees at heart and tries his best to solve their problems. He also tries his best to help those employees who are struggling in life. In the event of personal illness or injury to employees' families, he has generously donated money multiple times. When Wang Jing, a 46 year old worker in the casting workshop, talked about her experience, tears welled up in her eyes. "12 years ago, my husband unfortunately passed away due to the Wenchuan earthquake, leaving me, my parents in law, and my ten year old son behind. I am also from a rural area, and I don't have a family, so my life is in trouble. When Mr. Chang interviewed me and learned about the situation, he immediately recruited me to work in the company for key training and development. Now, I support my family and buy a house." The little things in these jobs, although simple, are all resounding.
After more than 6000 days and nights of struggle, the current Chang Lijun is already full of hair, but he still holds a sincere heart and continues to move forward towards the distance with full enthusiasm.
